Let’s go night skiing! Then get lost and drive around for 2 hours…
I wanted to go night skiing so I planned a trip with a good friend of mine to a small hill we had both never been to! What happens next…well we pass the turn off, google it, then maps takes us to the wrong side of town. When I mean wrong side I mean like an hour any from the real destination. So we ditched maps and started over. We finally get on the right road only to pass the turn off, which was a fork in the road end up here. Some strange town with a population of 500 people. Of course we stop and take pictures first! Also by this point we had lost all cell service as well. Then we turn around almost ready to give up. We get back to the fork in the road where we made the wrong turn and finally find the right road and decide to go skiing anyways…even though it took us 2 hours to get there instead of 20 minutes…but we did it!
What I learnt from this little adventure:
1. Look up directions before you go someplace you’ve never been
2. Never give up, persistence is key
3. This little ski hill is super cute
Harper Mountain directions: Ditch google maps, it will take you to Harper Elementary in a complete different town. Follow the sign that says Harper Mountain turn right when you are leaving Kamloops, it is right by a gas station. Then when the road forks go right not left and you will find your way!
